- What issues, problems, and concerns are your therapists trained to handle?
- Our licensed counselors work with individuals, couples, and families. We have therapists who specialize in working with young children and adolescents, as well as counselors who are approved-providers for seniors. Our team of counselors works with clients with emotional, spiritual, or relational challenges resulting in stress, anxiety, and depression.

- Does your counseling include religious advice?
- Our counselors are trained to work with clients who want to use their faith as a resource for personal healing and growth. One does not need to adhere to a particular religion to seek help at our counseling centers. The role of faith in his or her counseling is determined by each client.
- How do I make an appointment?
- Call (920) 886-9319 for Menasha, (920) 235-1678 for Oshkosh and (920) 982-7863 for New London. A member of our intake team will listen to your needs. We do our best to schedule appointments as soon as possible. Scheduling times are dependent upon your particular concerns and the appropriate counselor available to address your issues.
- What can I expect at my first appointment?
- Your initial session is an opportunity for you to get to know your counselor. Your counselor will carefully listen to the issues and concerns you bring to counseling. Your situation and background will be discussed to develop a treatment plan that will clarify your concerns, goals, and needs.
- What insurance plans does The Samaritan Counseling Center work with?
- The Center is an approved-provider for most insurance plans. Our counseling agency is also an approved mental-health provider for Medicaid and Medicare insurance plans. Our Intake-Coordinator will help you to determine coverage during your initial phone call.
- I don’t have health insurance. What payment options would I have?
- We work with un-insured clients in designing customized payment plans. The Samaritan Counseling Center of the Fox Valley may be able to adjust fees, as funds are available, for those who cannot afford standard rates. We make every effort, through our own Samaritan fund to help subsidize these costs.
- Are there other Samaritan Counseling Centers?
- There are 500 Samaritan Centers in 355 cities making the Samaritan network one of the largest counseling providers in the country integrating psychology and theology in cost effective counseling. A common feature of these centers is the philosophy of looking at the whole person including body, mind, spirit, and community in understanding the client’s needs and in developing appropriate treatment plans.
